Lauren Woodward, MSN, CPNP-AC, CDCES
Lauren Woodward, MSN, CPNP-AC, CDCES has served as a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner in the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Children’s of Alabama since 2011. Her areas of clinical interests include the management of pediatric patients with type I diabetes and metabolic bone disease. Lauren also maintains her Diabetes Care and Education Specialist Certification since 2013. Lauren works closely with the multidisciplinary metabolic bone disease clinic, helping to manage patients with a range of metabolic bone disorders including osteogenesis imperfecta, rickets, osteoporosis, and hypophosphatasia. Lauren also has an interest in nursing education, serving as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students, facilitating unit-level NP journal club sessions and working as an adjunct clinical instructor for Wallace State Community College. Lauren lives in Birmingham, AL with her husband, Jimbo, who is also a pediatric nurse, and her two daughters, Amelia and Charlotte, and dachshund Levi
