
Karen L. Clark, MMSc, PA‑C
Karen L. Clark, MMSc, PA‑C, is an Advanced Practice Provider with more than 20 years of experience in pediatric endocrinology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Since joining St. Jude in 2004, her clinical practice has centered on endocrine late effects in survivors of childhood cancer. She has contributed to multiple peer‑reviewed publications through her work with the St. Jude Lifetime Cohort (SJLIFE), advancing understanding of long‑term endocrine outcomes among childhood cancer survivors.
In addition to her survivorship work, Karen has extensive clinical experience managing differentiated thyroid cancer in children and adolescents. She has significant expertise in the use of recombinant human TSH (rhTSH) in the pediatric population and plays a key role in coordinating preparation for nuclear medicine whole‑body scans and radioactive iodine ablation therapy. She is an active participant in the multidisciplinary thyroid malignancy board, contributing to collaborative treatment planning and individualized patient care.
Since 2019, Karen has served as the APP Manager for Medical Subspecialties, where she leads APP teams across multiple pediatric subspecialties and partners with clinical operations to enhance workflows, quality, and team-based care.
Karen enjoys mentoring new and prospective APP managers, supporting leadership development and fostering professional growth within the APP community. She also serves on the Center of Advanced Practice Strategic Planning Advisory Board, contributing to long-term vision, strategy, and advancement of APP practice.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and visiting her two adult sons. She is also an avid gardener who finds restoration and joy in cultivating her outdoor spaces.
