Camille S. She started her career at North MS Medical Center caring primarily for adult post-op orthopedic patients and, on occasion, pediatric patients. She soon realized she preferred working with pediatric patients, and after only 8 months, she re-located to Memphis, TN. She began working at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital where she would remain for the next 18 years. During her time at LeBonheur, she fulfilled various inpatient roles including inpatient staff nurse for diabetes and renal patients. It was during this time, she developed an interest in the endocrine system. She eventually transitioned to the outpatient clinics and spent over 4 years in a dual role as the endocrine clinic coordinator and newborn screen follow-up coordinator for patients born with congenital adrenal hyperplasia and congenital hypothyroidism in the West TN region. She focused primarily on coordination of care for patients diagnosed with central precocious puberty, growth hormone deficiency, osteogenesis imperfecta, adrenal insufficiency, and other general endocrine disorders. She is currently employed at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for over 2 years in the outpatient Endocrine Clinic. The Endocrine division provides consultation services for St Jude patients with hormonal disorders. Our areas of expertise include disorders of growth and puberty, hypothalamic and pituitary dysfunctions, thyroid disease, changes in body composition and issues with bone health in hematology/oncology patients, and cancer survivors. Endocrine services are offered to patients followed at St Jude over the course of their treatment in the ambulatory setting, or for acute inpatient care. She is a member of the Greater Memphis Area Advanced Practice Nurses, TN Nurse’s Association, and PES Advanced Practice Providers Special Interest Group.
