Sarah Sparks, MSN, CRNP, FNP-C
Sarah Sparks is a board-certified nurse practitioner in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Children’s of Alabama, where she has worked since 2018. With over 10 years of experience at Children’s of Alabama, she has developed expertise in diagnosing and managing both general pediatric endocrinopathies and pediatric diabetes, including type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Currently, she is a member of the Alabama Newborn Screening Advisory Committee, collaborating with the Alabama Department of Public Health to diagnose and evaluate babies with congenital hypothyroidism and congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Sarah is especially passionate about diagnosing and managing pediatric endocrine conditions, with a particular focus on her current role caring for infants with congenital hypothyroidism and congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
She previously served as a provider in the multidisciplinary Metabolic Bone Clinic, managing patients with a range of metabolic bone disorders including osteogenesis imperfecta, rickets, osteoporosis, and hypophosphatasia. She also has experience caring for patients with pediatric thyroid nodules and pediatric thyroid cancer.
Sarah has been an active member of the PES APP SIG since its inception in 2021.
