Lisa Truong
Lisa Truong is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner specializing in congenital hyperinsulinism. She has worked at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas for over 10 years. Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Oklahoma in 2007 and her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas- Arlington in 2012. She is dual certified in primary and acute care pediatric advanced practice nursing. Lisa began her career in 2007 as a neonatal nurse at Cook Children’s. In 2009, she transitioned to the endocrine clinic, where she collaborated alongside Dr. Paul Thornton to start the Congenital Hyperinsulinism Program in 2010. This program is now one of six centers of excellence in the world for treating children with congenital hyperinsulinism. To date, she continues to be an integral part of the program, bringing a wealth of knowledge on the treatment of children with hypoglycemia, specifically congenital hyperinsulinism. Lisa is heavily involved in hypoglycemia research, having written over 45 abstracts and 6 publications.
