Research Grant Program for Fellows:
The purpose of this small grant is to support and encourage research efforts of fellows. The maximum amount of funding available for each of these grants is $2500 for one year. The PES plans to fund approximately 5 grants per year. One of these grants, the named RSG; The Raphael David, MD Rising Star Grant, will be given preferentially to an application related to the developmental biology of the testes or adrenal gland. There will only be one round of applications per year. The RSA program is in addition to the already established and larger Research Fellowship Grant (RFG) program.
Eligibility
Fellows/In-Training members who are PES members in good standing and who are in an approved training program in Pediatric Endocrinology are eligible for the Rising Star Grant. U.S. citizenship or green card status is NOT required. Those with career plans in North America are favored.

Victoria A. Elliott, MD, Pediatric Endocrinology Fellow in Pediatric Endocrinology, Children’s Hospital of Colorado
“The Rising Star Award was a tremendous honor to receive and has given me the opportunity to further my research during my pediatric endocrinology fellowship. I am studying how to improve conversations around fertility and reproductive health with individuals with Turner syndrome and their families. This grant has given me the ability to train in mixed methods research and has allowed me to recruit participants. Receiving this award was a tremendous help as a trainee and I am thankful for the support of the Pediatric Endocrine Society.”

Abby Cobb-Walch, MD, Pediatric Endocrine Fellow in Pediatric Endocrinology, University of California, San Francisco
“I am extremely grateful to have received the Pediatric Endocrine Society Rising Star Award. It has allowed me to continue my research on providers’ perceptions, challenges, and opportunities in the provision of gender-affirming medical care to nonbinary youth. This exploration will inform future mixed-methods research studies with the ultimate goal of developing optimal therapeutic approaches to the care for nonbinary youth.”
