To promote prevention and support excellence in the treatment of pediatric obesity and its comorbidities.

Goals and Objectives

The Pediatric Obesity SIG will:

• Provide up-to-date recommendations and research findings in the diagnosis and
  management of obesity and related comorbidities
• Educate subspecialists, primary care physicians, patients and the public regarding
  recommendations for the prevention and treatment of pediatric obesity
• Advocate for appropriate treatment of pediatric obesity
• Promote the treatment of pediatric obesity in a chronic disease model
• Facilitate collaboration in practice methods and research opportunities
