SUMMARY:Industry Sponsored Symposia: Assessing New Therapies and Lifelong Management Strategies for Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia
DESCRIPTION:Industry Sponsored Symposia: Assessing New Therapies and Lifelong Management Strategies for Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia \nDate/time: Tuesday\, August 18\, 2026 from 1:00 – 2:30 PM ET \nDescription: This CME symposium equips clinicians to deliver lifelong\, patient-centered care for individuals with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). Faculty will review the mechanisms\, efficacy\, safety\, and tolerability of current and emerging therapeutic options\, highlighting advances that may reshape glucocorticoid management. The session will emphasize shared decision-making strategies tailored to developmental stages\, including best practices for transitioning pediatric patients to adult care. Participants will also learn to design comprehensive\, evidence-based care plans that address the long‑term metabolic\, cardiovascular\, reproductive\, and psychosocial sequelae of chronic glucocorticoid exposure—even after dose normalization—to optimize outcomes across the lifespan. \nLearning Objectives: \nEvaluate the mechanisms\, efficacy\, safety\, and tolerability profiles of current and emerging agents for CAH\nIntegrate SDM approaches for patient management across the lifespan\, including the transition of pediatric patients to adult care\nDevelop comprehensive\, evidence-based care plans to address the long-term sequalae arising from chronic glucocorticoid exposure in CAH\, even after dose normalization\nCMEs: \nPHYSICIAN CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT\nMed Learning Group designates this virtually live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the virtually live activity. \nNURSES (ANCC) CREDIT DESIGNATION\nMed Learning Group designates this activity for a maximum of 1.5 ANCC contact hours. \nSponsored by the Med Learning Group

SUMMARY:Facilitator Training 'Being an Ally that ACTS'
DESCRIPTION:The PES Health Systems & Disparities Committee invites all PES members to participate in an interactive training program focused on allyship and effective advocacy in healthcare-3-part webinar. Through a combination of didactic learning and case-based small-group discussions\, participants will gain practical tools to recognize and address bias\, support colleagues and trainees\, and foster a culture of respect and belonging. Using the IQEE framework (Interrupt\, Question\, Educate\, Echo)\, participants will develop the confidence and skills needed to move beyond awareness and become allies who take meaningful action. This program is open to attendings\, fellows\, APPs\, educators\, and trainees\, and no prior experience is required. Through real-world cases and small-group discussions\, participants will learn how to translate allyship into action using the IQEE framework. Open to all PES members. This training is for the facilitators. \nBeing an Ally that ACTS\nThe Health Systems & Disparities Committee invites all PES members to participate in “Being an Ally that ACTS\,” an interactive training program designed to provide practical skills to recognize and respond to bias\, prejudice\, and microaggressions in clinical\, educational\, and workplace settings. Using the IQEE framework (Interrupt\, Question\, Educate\, Echo)\, participants will move beyond awareness and develop the confidence and tools to become allies who take meaningful action; supporting colleagues\, trainees\, and patients\, and fostering a culture of respect and belonging. \nWho should attend: Open to ALL PES members: attendings\, fellows\, APPs\, educators\, and trainees. No prior experience or preparation is required. \nProgram Structure & Time Commitment \nThe program consists of three sessions\, designed to build on one another: \n\nFacilitator Training Webinar (for facilitator volunteers). This session will be recorded\n\nWednesday\, September 23 I 9:30–11:30 AM ET \nRegister \n\nSession 1 – Didactic: “Being an Ally that ACTS” This session will be recorded\n\nMonday\, September 28 I 1:00–3:00 PM ET \nRegister \n\nSession 2 – Case Practicum Workshop This session will not be recorded\n\nTuesday\, October 13 I 5:00–7:00 PM ET \nRegister \nWhat to expect at each session: \nDidactic (Session 1): An engaging overview of allyship concepts\, the evidence for why they matter\, and an introduction to the IQEE framework. If you cannot attend live\, a recording will be available — but we encourage live attendance for the full experience. \nCase Practicum (Session 2): Small-group\, facilitated discussions of real-world case scenarios\, opening with a brief IQEE skills refresher. This session will not be recorded intentionally so participants can share personal experiences and engage openly and candidly. Live attendance is required. \nSessions are sequenced deliberately: the didactic prepares you for the case practicum\, so plan to attend (or view) them in order. \nCall for Facilitators \nWe are recruiting approximately 10 volunteer facilitators to lead small-group discussions during the Case Practicum. Facilitators attend all three sessions\, including the dedicated Facilitator Training on September 23 led by Dr. Rickquel Tripp (UPMC). This is a rewarding\, low-lift opportunity to build skills you can bring back to your own institution\, previously trained facilitators are welcome to return\, and new volunteers are enthusiastically encouraged. \nTotal time commitment: 4 hours for general participants (2 hours may be viewed as a recording); 6 hours for facilitators. \nCME Credit Offered by UPMC \nUniversity of Pittsburgh Medical Center will provide AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for the live or recorded September 28 session. CME credit for the October 13 session will be available following completion of the live Case Practicum. \nParticipants who complete the program are eligible for 4.0 CME credits; partial credit is not available. Details to claim credits from UPMC will be shared after course completion.
